Hi, I’m new to this site and have been trying to catch up on the history and progress of the server.
I have a couple of questions – If you have the answer to one, please tell me the answer down below, any and all information is appreciated.
1) Whats the progress on DLU?
2) Why was LUNI abandoned?
3) Is there anything I can do to help?
4) Is the client that you can download the full game?
DLU is very cryptic. It’s unknown to a lot of people except the developers of the server what is going on inside it. But Darwin (The main person developing DLU) uploaded a video on the progress that they were at.
LUNI wasn’t abandoned, it’s still being developed privately by many people. It was just proved to be too hectic or too much of a hassle to develop publicly.
If you want to help, learn the basics of C++, take a look at the documentaion, get into contact with a LUNI/DLU developer, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. There is nothing wrong with asking questions, DLU developer Xiphoseer got onto the DLU team by asking the original LUNI devs how the program worked. (Tell me if you’d like me to get you into contact with some on Skype.)
Yes, the Clients on this site are the full files (except I hear Nexus 2 is missing some audio files)

To add onto what @mater06 mentioned about the clients, Nexus 2 and the BlastClient are both full clients, but Nexus 2 actually contains a bunch of duplicate audio files that make the client much larger than it should be. Nexus 2 is 5.3 GB compressed, while BlastClient is only 4 GB compressed. Perhaps I will fix this and make a new client to put on the downloads page, since BlasterBuilder doesn’t want us to host the BlastClient. If I do, I’ll probably add the patcher and some stuff like the LU Translator to make getting started easier.
