Hey I want to host a small private server on my computer that I can just play on my own. Does anyone have a link to a tutorial that can tell me how to set one up with the latest server stuff and stuff?
October 24, 2015 at 12:20 pm #1594XiphoseerModeratorThe latest released versions have tutorials on this site, for the unreleased development, no support will be provided. It’s not that different from old versions, we just haven’t set up a standard procedure to do it and don’t want the same questions every time someone tries to set it up. Since you only want to play alone, 0.6.3 or 0.5.1 should work for you. In case you meant the in-dev stuff, I suggest you read the forum rules, as it’s already explained there. Everybody should do that actually.
October 24, 2015 at 12:47 pm #1595LEGO Scooby DooBlocked@Feremist do you mean private server as in 0.8 because no help will be provided and if you do keep asking for help on 0.8, you’ll get banned like me for example I was being a whiny and wouldn’t stop then it turned out I am banned but now I have learn’t from many of my mistakes and also I do apologize to all LUNI devs, and I mean deeply, I just really hate what I did in the past anyways yh if you want a private server then download 0.5.1 or 0.6.3 or if you want 0.8 you gotta figure that out on your own, I already know but I don’t know if the devs want me telling any one how to do it
October 24, 2015 at 2:14 pm #1604XiphoseerModerator@LegoClub, if you have the time and knowledge to fully explain him how to do it, go ahead. The important part for us is that:
a) no executables get uploaded anywhere, so everybody has to compile himself
b) if something breaks anyways, we don’t want to be asked
c) ONLY use links to the LUNIServer GitHub or official pages like microsoft.com/msdn.com or mysql.com e.g. for external libraries. No third party file host! luniserver.com is allowed too.
d) If you write down any tutorial, make sure you include a warning that no support will be given, and any request following your tutorial will be redirected to you or ignored completely.October 24, 2015 at 4:09 pm #1605FeremistParticipantAlright thanks for the info! So now I have a question about a released server with it’s tutorial. I’m trying to install server 0.4 (Pre 2) and everything in the tutorial has went flawlessly except for step 10 (start launch.bat). When I try to start it up an error pops up saying
“The program can’t start because libmysql.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”
, But I can see the libmysql.dll file right below the launch.bat file. Anyone have a solution?
October 24, 2015 at 4:13 pm #1606XiphoseerModeratorIs that the same folder as luniserver.exe or however the executable is called?

October 24, 2015 at 11:45 pm #1609CDFalconParticipantI would say this is my favorite “Top 10 Things LUNI Newbies Ask”
No offense, I too have suffered this error 😛
Move it to system32…(in Windows in C:/ in your computer 😉 ) that will fix it.

October 25, 2015 at 6:39 am #1620LEGO Scooby DooBlocked@SaporousFuture4 yes, I posted the topic now its “How To Set Up a 0.8 Server”
October 25, 2015 at 6:40 am #1621FeremistParticipantActually in the end I accidentally fixed the problem. The .dll file that was under the launch.bat had to be copy and pasted into each of the three folders above it. Thanks everyone!
