Ok, this conversation is done. Closing this topic now as future discussion is worthless, a waste of energy, and potentially create problems unless anyone is able to convince me otherwise. It makes no sense that Darwin would not have been contacted directly, and the fact that arguing and throwing insults won’t help has already been established.
LUNI was once a complete mess and a flame war in itself. Not letting that happen again, when it can be a legitimate, professional, productive project.
Almost all (if not all) of the current developers agree that we’ll move to SourceForge, and host a website and forums through there.
We’re going to be rebuilding a lot of the code to make it a lot easier to work with, especially for new devs, starting some point soon, which will be the main focus. Being that you said you are able to work with web, you could probably help to build the CMS once we get to the point where there’s a way to actually do anything with it.
Currently GitHub: https://github.com/jaller200/LUNIServerProject
However, there might be a move soon.
I imagine we’ll eventually be working on a more fully-functional CMS for the server. Your help would be appreciate with that.
Many of us will most likely also be transitioning away from Tim’s hosting and back to SourceForge, which will have its own WordPress site hosted through SourceForge. Depending on how things go, there may be some ability to help with that…
Also: Adding a favicon would be a good idea…
Additionally, would it be possible to set the forum role of those in these forums who are active in development (that is, have actually released substantial code relevant to the furthering of the LUNI Server software) to ‚developer‘, as opposed to the default ‚participant‘?
I think the real issue with this is that we don’t really know what precisely needs to be done, what’s involved, how long it will take, etc. It’s a continually evolving process.
