No you didn’t quite understand what I said.
The rules state that you have to maintain your own repository in which all new features etc. get added when done, so the whole community can benefit from it. You are also required to patch vulnerabilities and other issues such as the weakness of hashes (MD5). This has yet to be done. We already know that you are using Jonny’s source code, but it is Jonny’s code and not your own in which you fixed the issues states in the rules.
To comply with the rules please open your own repository and fix the problems I stated. I also advice you to re-read the rules posted by Xiphoseer to fully understand and comply to them.
LiveModeratorHey Glass and other devs from the ION project,
I’m just writing this post to remember you to be compliant with the public server requirements put up by Xiphoseer on this forums. As Jonny wrote, his server has the same requirements and rules and yet I haven’t seen a public repository with the source code and the modified security improvements.
I hope this „issue“ will be resolved asap.

LiveModeratorThank you for supporting the open source community and future aspiring developers 🙂
LiveModeratorMSVCP120.dll belongs to Visual Studio, if you would have used the search function you’d know that people had this problem before. Please try installing the Visual Studio C++ 2013 Redistributable obtainable from Microsoft to fix that error.

However, if you have an IP where people can play you could also setup a webserver on the same machine, providing the UniverseLauncher website, allowing people to more or less securely register and handle their account on their own.

Please do not host a server if that’s your security point of view, please do not even consider anything IT related even.
LiveModeratorSorry, but this is wrong on so many levels. Please don’t submit your password through this forms, it is even said in the Google Forms itself. This is INSECURE.
If you were properly hosting the server please provide a homepage where you can create your accounts directly and they will be directly inserted into the server’s game database (like UniverseLauncher does).
LiveModeratorThey didn’t „work“, at least Egmo’s didnt. It was more like a huge clown fiesta. The server had more downtime than uptime, people complained about connectivity issues all day and the whole organization and hosting part was a huge mess.
LiveModeratorAs I said, I can only make you aware of the problems that comes with hosting a LUNI server. The code base is very unstable and broken, there are a ton of vulnerabilities that could be easily exploited and lead to even bigger harm.
That being said, the last version I hosted peaked at 2GB RAM with only around 10 players on it within 10 minutes. It is certainly not a good experience for players if you have to restart the server application every 10 minutes causing them to disconnect.
I’d rather wait until someone fixes these severe bugs (pointing a finger at @Xiphoseer ’s direction here) before hosting a public server again.
In addition to that the server has some design issues that lead to pretty high bandwidths and CPU spikes. I’d recommend getting a full root server and not a virtual server for hosting purposes as well as unlimited bandwidth plans.
LiveModeratorThis is probably directly linked to this topic.
LiveModeratorHey, you can’t compare any of the LUNI versions to stuff like Mongoes (WoW). From what I’ve seen it’s fairly hard to add new content and the stability of the server is a nightmare as well. I strongly suggest to not host them publicly (because of severe vulnerabilities on the code as well).
I am not sure what has been fixed in the latest version but memory leaks are a huge issue as well. The memory usage will rapidly skyrocket towards 2+ GB and the server will then continue to crash without further notice or logs.
LiveModeratorHey, it was me Matt was refering to. Apparently I was locked out due to too many failed logins which is weird becaus I didn’t have to login at all since I registered.
Consider this case closed and thanks for your effort.
März 24, 2016 um 4:17 am Uhr als Antwort auf: Tutorial: How to download and play Lego Universe #4597LiveModeratorYou are most likely starting it from the wrong folder. Usually libmysql.dll is in the same folder the EXE is located. If it really ISNT there grab the MySQL C Connector from their website.
LiveModeratorThat is basically what HappyAngryCatfish is trying to tell you, yes.
