I don’t have twitter so I will not be able to win a key 🙁 but I am excited to see the finished product 🙂 What has been shown so far looks excellent.
pwjones1969TeilnehmerI understand their not wanting to release the source or binaries. It sucks for people like me who want to mess with the source code just because 🙂 Granted, I could go through the effort to create my own server source but that defeats the purpose of my joining an open source project.
Either way I will be happy just to play again. If I also understand the reasoning for not releasing anything, the whole point is so that everyone will play on one server and enjoy LEGO Universe like the good ol‘ days 🙂
pwjones1969TeilnehmerAs I understand it, the current LUNI code on GitHub is about as far as the developers can get (or want to get) without a physics engine. From what I have heard, DLU has received licenses for the Havok® physics engine and thus can develop the server further. I know that at least one developer (Xiphoseer) has switched over to DLU in order to continue development.
It is my understanding that Havok is free for non-commercial use. I don’t know if that was true before Microsoft bought them.
From the download I found:
3. LICENSE
(a) Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Havok hereby grants to Licensee a non commercial, nonexclusive, nontransferable, internal, limited license to evaluate the Product at Licensee’s premises for the Term of this Agreement only. Except as permitted under section 3 (b) below, the Product is provided for evaluation, demonstration, prototyping, testing, and/or proof of concept purposes only and no commercial product development work is authorized under this Agreement, whether such developed software is used internally or distributed to end users.
(b) In the following cases Havok grants to Licensee a nonexclusive, nontransferable, irrevocable (except to the extent provided in section 13 below), perpetual right and license to internally develop:
(i) publicly demonstrate, and publicly distribute a Havok-enabled non-commercial end-user compiled, binary executable software application or game for the Windows PC Platform, in which the Software is compiled and distributed within the software application or game in an integral, non-separable way, for no direct or indirect commercial value;Am I mistaken?
pwjones1969TeilnehmerLooks good. Supported 🙂
pwjones1969TeilnehmerSee this post from HappyAngryCatfish.
https://luniserver.com/topic/items-in-localhost/#post-6105That version is all source code so it will have to be compiled. Good luck 🙂
pwjones1969TeilnehmerDon’t listen to the naysayers. Who cares if LUNI (the software) is inactive or not. LUNI (the movement to bring back LEGO Universe) is alive and well no matter what name it has.
I like the YouTube site and the photo archive is nice too 🙂
pwjones1969TeilnehmerThanks. I am pretty excited about it 🙂 Although I am starting to wonder how much it would go for on ebay 😉
And thanks timtech for fixing the image.pwjones1969TeilnehmerI am not having much luck with this 🙁
Try this link:

pwjones1969TeilnehmerIt looks like the image did not show up. It seems that was a cache copy and only worked when I was logged into shutterfly 🙁
pwjones1969TeilnehmerWill you post the URL for the stream here? I want to try and catch it to see what all has been done 🙂

pwjones1969TeilnehmerXiphoseer, is this the source that is at https://github.com/LUNIServer/UniverseServer? That source seems to be 5 months old. I see where CDFalcon says LUNI v8 and just wanted to make sure my source is up to date 🙂
Thanks
pwjones1969TeilnehmerAnd now I figured out how to view the forks 🙂
pwjones1969TeilnehmerI figured out how to delete it.
pwjones1969TeilnehmerThanks. How do I look at different forks? Also, how can I delete a fork? I accidentally made one by not knowing what I was doing 🙂
