Err, I cannot confirm that DLU is „going to happen“, but what I have heard is that it uses proprietary physics (Havok Physics) so the server itself allegedly cannot be released in compiled form or as source code. This means that they will be the only people that can develop or host a DLU server. As for a max player base, I have heard that it will be around 40 if it is „actually going to happen“, and it will be very hard to obtain one of these 40 slots… so I wouldn’t have high hopes for DLU at this point.
TimtechAdministratorAnd if you do want to play on a locally hosted server (there is no true „offline“ mode), you would have
AUTHSERVERIP=0:localhost,
(which I think is the default anyway).TimtechAdministratorIn boot.cfg find AUTHSERVERIP and it will probably say
AUTHSERVERIP=0:localhost,
or something else instead of localhost. This is what you change to connect to a different server; for Ion Universe, you would doAUTHSERVERIP=0:ion.luniserver.com,
TimtechAdministratorYou’re welcome 😀
TimtechAdministratorYes @cooldragonskull the server hosts both the LUNI server and the web interface, so they are both down.
TimtechAdministratorUh yeah… I saw all that cursing when you got filtered. Ahem, anyway, your posts are whitelisted now, so you should not be filtered again. Also, I’ll edit your posts to update the links as you asked. (You can’t edit posts that are older than some days, unless you are a moderator, although that could change).
TimtechAdministratorExtract the .zip file. Right-click on the archive, and select „Extract All“. Then, in the extracted folder, run legouniverse.exe (make sure you have the server running when you try to connect).
TimtechAdministratorHello, Ion server admins! I am glad that you were able to set up the LUNI server 0.8 successfully. I have made the A record for ion.luniserver.com to your IP, so you can make
AUTHSERVERIP=0:ion.luniserver.com,
and point new users to the website http://ion.luniserver.com/ion/ if you’d like. It’s definitely not required, but I’ve found that new users are more likely to remember a URL like ion.luniserver.com instead of an IPv4 address. I also added the Ion public server to the widget at the bottom of the page. It will reflect your server’s status in realtime. Lastly, I highly encourage you to adhere strictly to Xiphoseer’s guidelines, which you must follow as owners of a public LUNI server: https://xiphosia.wordpress.com/lu-public-server-requirements/TimtechAdministratorYou’re welcome!
TimtechAdministratorSimply removing the /de/ part of the URL will not work. Try visiting https://luniserver.com/en or use the Preferred Language widget in the sidebar.
TimtechAdministratorThanks for the suggestion @Kittyjumpyphone. I’ve made a new poll.
TimtechAdministrator???
Marked as resolved.
TimtechAdministratorUmm, the subforum is already gone. It’s been gone. But I will take your suggestion and remove the public servers page (at least until there are public servers again).
TimtechAdministratorMoved to „Help and Support“ > „Resolved“.
I’m sorry we don’t provide help for the 0.8 versions but I do hope you will be able to set it up.
TimtechAdministratorAnd he’s not one of the people locked out. Looking at recent traffic for his IP I find nothing. He is in Denmark, same person?
