I would so buy actual LEGO Universe faction kit minifigures if they introduced them to the Minifigures product lineup as a series. Not just for the nostalgia, but also because of their designs. They look so good.
FrostyCloudParticipantSame here, near mint condition, but not the pre-order edition. Would’ve loved the figure. I bet it sells for quite a lot on Ebay.
.. Huh, found one for thirteen dollars. Tempting.
FrostyCloudParticipantAMD also has a built-in catalyst/crimson program like this, for those without an Nvidia. However, it seems to specifically state to be dependent on whether or not the display is capable of playing 3D content, which you would need to either test or look up, or better yet, both.
FrostyCloudParticipantYeah, I had issues getting past the Venture Explorer intro bit as well. From my experience, just took a few tries, haven’t had issues since.
That is, unless you are experiencing issues after leaving the Venture Explorer, and then trying to go back to it? In which case, somebody more technically informed on the subject than me will probably need to help.
Also, it ain’t my job to moderate here, but there is a sub forum in General Discussion for Egmo’s server, called “LEGO Universe Reborn” right above the suggestions sub forum. You can post this sorta stuff there for future reference.
FrostyCloudParticipantSo uh, why did this have to go public if this was just for Tim? While we as a community should be open towards each other, this all looks like unnecessary drama the entire community doesn’t need to see, causing a fuss among ourselves, and more “LUNI is dead/needs to die” spam.
LUNI, from what I understand, is a fundamental server and client file hosting location, with a go-to forum on the project idea in general, as DLU news seems to be done here from time to time as well, even if not intentional or official.
I haven’t seen a single other website that unites all of these LEGO Universe fans wanting to see it restored under a common location. For LUNI to die as a whole would be the last thing we would want in interest of keeping the community alive. For example, DLU, the group as a whole, may not want to be bothered by the fans while they are working on their server files, understandably so, but, when they are ready, fans need to be able to go somewhere to know that they are ready, or else nobody but the developers who made it possible will know it is (or if it is) done, minus a few in-the-loop dedicated followers, and close friends. And LUNI is pretty much it, from what I’ve seen, as there is no DLU website that I know of, yet.
FrostyCloudParticipantOkay, back. Whew.
If the idea of playing around with the settings is too sketchy, I am perfectly fine with the thread being taken down and all. I was pretty much looking for the equivalent of Skyrim’s ini config settings, or just like Tim said, the boot.cfg file, not y’know, replacing, adding, or deleting textures and stuff in the game to some sorta HD LU.
FrostyCloudParticipantWe can all universally agree building was one of the best parts, right? I am sure you guys are familiar with this, but LEGO invested tons of money into hiring quality staff to moderate builds. One of the big demises of the game that was fairly recently revealed is that they wanted a semi-automated/automated moderation system, but they couldn’t get it working to their needs. Hence why building isn’t in Chima Online or Minifigures Online, they don’t want to risk it, not only in budget, but in protection of their brand.
So, unless they made a breakthrough, I doubt they would revive LEGO Universe when they still haven’t figured automated moderation out. Also LEGO Worlds is pretty much LEGO’s way of giving players the building system they desire, and additionally, they are working on multiplayer for it too. Why make a LEGO building MMO when you already have one of the core aspects of LEGO Universe, building and sharing creations with friends in a virtual environment, in a game that doesn’t require us to pay for a bunch of servers and moderators?
The next best thing we can hope for is them releasing the official server files, I imagine.

FrostyCloudParticipantWesley, this is probably why.

You have to be accepted into the database, you were just accepted. Along with other users.

FrostyCloudParticipantAnd even if it was, you don’t ask the people who made it and/or its forum section if it is a virus, because they would just go “Oh sure, download it!” So be careful about that.

FrostyCloudParticipantSorry it took so long to reply, I have been been meaning to reply weeks ago, but, well, account issues and my personal life came up.
I originally thought a separate category would make more sense, since General Discussion is for LUNI discussion, not technically LU itself, from what I understand. But separating them would make both sections split, of course, and with the size of the community, we probably wouldn’t generate too much chatter to make separating them worthwhile. With that in mind, I think just changing the description (“Discuss the LEGO Universe Newly Imagined project.”) of the category to be more broad would do perfectly fine.
As for a computer related discussion category, I know you probably don’t want to make things get too off topic in these forums, but increasing the variety will probably be important to keep the community going, something to look forward to when coming back to this website, despite even if development is slow.
FrostyCloudParticipantAfter some technical difficulties of setting up a WordPress account, I am finally able to contact you all!
I found LUNI after I searched for the music of LEGO Universe. The web page for streaming it on LUNI was one of the first to show in a google search. After exploring some more, I was super excited to learn of this project. And while the development of the project might not be going 100% right now, devs are still here and interested with working on this, with a community to back it up. Like most here, I got no coding background that could possibly help, but spreading the word, and helping to keep the community active by posting is what I intend to do here.
Thanks!
