There was already a connections llimit in the last release, but without multiplayer or working public servers, basically nobody cared, tested or knew about it. It just hasn’t been changed or made configurable because there was no need for it and for me it’s not really high priority. It’s easily changable when you recompile it, and should not be an issue anymore when a release comes along.
@RamiLego4Game: as said in the other post, we don’t have to do anything. Please change your attitude about features you’d like to see. You may propose features but not demand them. In this case it’s not that annoying since it’s planned anyways.
Actually, we have github for that, a changelog is planned too. Saying ‘it will’ sounds like you are either not a native speaker or expecting from us to implement your idea specifically. “Do you have X planned, if not, what do you think about doing it like this?” Would be a better way to ask.
Moved topic 0.8.0 Alpha 1 Pre-Release to trash because the question by @DragonPixel violates Rule #2 by asking about the C++ redistributables, which has been answered many times and is in the FAQ.
When you only say you don’t know how to compile, we can only assume you know nothing about it, in which case you should use 0.5.1 or start reading the basics of programming in C++ on the Internet, because we can not explain everything. It’s needed in programming to at least try to work it out by yourself. And if your stuck, tell people what didn’t work. The same with saying XAMPP is broken. Until you tell us where it breaks and what doesn’t work, we have to assume you can’t use XAMPP at all, meaning there is no way to run 0.7.
If we make an exception for you, that would be the same as helping everyone. You have the entire Internet to help you except for us. If you want to test playing, use Falcons server, if you want to develop, find out how to do that yourself.
The server source actually is available, you can find it on that page if you look closely. You need to compile and set it up yourself though, no help will be provided for non-release versions. And the 24 hours was from yesterday actually.
What does the server console say? I remember having the same problem once, but sadly don’t remember what it was.
Actually you might just have edited the wrong file. Your Notepad++ says you are editing the “world/gruntmonkey/char_aw2.bin” but the game loads CheekyMonkey. If you have that file, try editing “world/char_aw2.bin”
That happens when you start the patcher without the necessary changes made to your environment. The patcher tries to connect to http://services.lego.com where it doesn’t find anything LU related anymore, so it gives out that error. The easiest way around this, is to open the folder your client is stored in, and open the “client” directory and then start “legouniverse.exe”. You may need to adjust boot.cfg to connect to a server of your choice.
When you use the client you used when the game was live, you might need to download a full version (~10GB), e.g. nexus2 or the BlastClient, which are both complete enough for mostly stable gameplay.
Hi @dracualfrank, this means the client can’t reach the server. Please look at the FAQ for what might be the problem. (Always do that before asking actually)
