Hi all,
recently I wrote General Statement about the future of LUNI. Since then, much became more clear. LUNI is dead. Any developers like Xipho/Jon/Jonny are working on other projects. Jonny opened his server again, using the newest source from GitHub (which is quite old). Xipho and Jon moved to DLU. This is a closed-source project, meaning that you won’t know anything about how it is built except you officially develop with them. But LU will still come back. Darwin, leader of DLU, stated in the community chat «Public testing early 2016». So, maybe there will be at least a public server to play, even if it’s not open source. I think LUNI as a community will still exist, but new servers won’t come from here. And now to the thanks.
@TimTech: Even though you made mistakes, you are a good community manager.
@Xiphoseer: You revived LUNI for a short time by implementig multiplayer. You have my highest reputation for that, hopefully you can push DLU to a great future.
@Knightoffaith: You are the master of managing. If there is anything to organise, you are the man. Hope to never see you go.
@Darwin: I don’t know much more than your nickname. But what I know is that you recognized that the revive of LU needs to be closed source. I’m an open-source person but in this situation, it was the right decision. There are more people to thank, but these are the most important in my opinion. I’m not leaving but maybe I won’t be that much online like before.
As long as you hope, you can.

diciembre 1, 2015 a las 7:05 pm #2433XiphoseerModerador@chooksta0, there is none!
diciembre 1, 2015 a las 7:13 pm #2434WheresMyMailboxParticipanteWhen do you think or have an idea when DLU will create a website?
diciembre 1, 2015 a las 7:55 pm #2436XiphoseerModeradorThis is precisely the reason why it doesn’t have one and will not create one.
diciembre 1, 2015 a las 8:15 pm #2438chooksta0ParticipanteSo why is the logo contest still going on? if luni is dead and not being developed? and I cant wait for a DLU release!
diciembre 1, 2015 a las 8:31 pm #2439TimtechSuperadministradorWhy develop a project that is closed source and will not be released, other than to keep the public confused and be admin of the only public server?
diciembre 1, 2015 a las 8:54 pm #2446chooksta0ParticipanteIs Jon and Jonny the same person.
diciembre 1, 2015 a las 8:55 pm #2447chooksta0ParticipanteAnd how do people even join DLU, just wondering I don’t have the skills to join or anything so i’m just wondering.
diciembre 2, 2015 a las 7:50 am #2457XiphoseerModeradorBecause if you do it in public which LUMI did, people will try setting it up without the necessary experience, fail miserably and annoy the devs about it. You get sidetracked with community stuff and actual development looses focus. Would the community just shut up, be patient and be helpful in contributing, but a LEGO game has not the right audience to make that work. And these annoying ones are the ones you hear the most. And honestly this «I’m not even a dev but go advertise people» is just silly. And most people in here don’t care for the project but for wanting to play LU, which is a massive difference and exploits the project.
These are facts, think about it.
And for joining DLU: you can’t. If you are good, if you prove to have skills, if you are a nice and not annoying person, people might invite you to their private project. But there is no way to join. This applies to almost every closed project.

diciembre 2, 2015 a las 9:00 pm #2466TimtechSuperadministradorBut why won’t you release what you have, once it is ready, to the public?
diciembre 2, 2015 a las 9:57 pm #2467HappyAngryCatfishCommunity Helper@Timtech though I’m not a part of DLU this has been discussed a lot with Darwin and he feels (and a decent amount of other people) feel there is no reason for other servers. And to keep all the people that wish to play LU on one server.
diciembre 6, 2015 a las 2:52 pm #2508BuggotParticipanteTo be honest, if you wanted to you could ignore the community. But making this closed source puts people off because they don’t know whether it exists or not. I’d rather people annoy me but support me and be there, knowing that what I am doing actually will benefit people in some way. Putting this completely behind curtains closes off the community and doesn’t help you at all. I don’t mind closed source, but when a group just completely goes off the radar with a few vague «We’re working on it, but don’t want anyone in or knowing anything about it», wouldn’t you just lose hope? You wouldn’t be able to know if they’re working on it, if they’re finished, if anything is even being done.
Pretty sad that it’s turned out this way. If I am telling the truth, before you all decided to move or whatever there wasn’t even a big problem. People were asking questions and what not, but there was like 3-4 a week, if ANY??? This isn’t like some big thing where hundreds would ask a week how to do this and that and what all.
We are all bonded by the love for LU. Closing your doors is IMO the wrong way to go. Set up some communication at least. No matter how annoying I or others can get, it all comes from our love of LU. We want this to happen, we want to help you, we want to see you succeed. If the worst comes to worst, revamp the whole project, delete LUNI and go with DLU, but involve some of the community, slowly handpick and open yourselves up more and more after you have gotten a core group. Doing so will greatly benefit the future of development and team morale altogether.Buggot
diciembre 6, 2015 a las 4:35 pm #2509HappyAngryCatfishCommunity Helper@Buggot First off, Darwin never wanted to be involved with anyone to begin with. Second of all he probably doesn’t care what you think at all. 3rd of all saying people won’t know about it is a very poor argument. All it takes I’d a few YouTubers with a decent number of subs to get the attention needed.
diciembre 6, 2015 a las 7:44 pm #2514XiphoseerModeradorBuggot, that’s the most ridiculous and just plain wrong post i’ve see in a while.
1. 3-4 a week? There have been people with 100 posts a day.
2. It feels abusive for a dev if people always only want more.
3. If DLU was not making progress, why would people loving LU quit to work with it?
4. Handpick from the community happens. Just nobody will ever pick an annoying noob.
5. There is communication for testers and YouTube videos for DLU, just not public.
6. «No matter how annoying people get» LOL, good luck with reality. There are even psychological illnesses if it gets serious.
7. People have tried open projects. And the people here shows it’s worth nothing at all. Go learn some LUNI backstory.I can’t help but laugh at how wrong and misguided you post is. This is a game for kids. We don’t have a mature community to work with. Belive me, I’ve tried.
