    Hey all, it’s me Becool.

I’m writing today to ask what the current state of Lego Universe is, as I have not been on this forum in ages and have always been wondering if any progress has been made. If anyone can give me a brief summary of what has happened in the past 6 months that’d be awesome.

    Thanks.

Nothing has really happened, except Jonny opened his server back up and Kendal leaving to work on DLU

We may get a release of DLU at some point in the next year. But we could also get it in two or three years, or maybe never. JALUS might be used for Jonny’s server, but although the codebase will be nicer, new features will take much time.

Alright. Can someone explain to me what DLU is about? Also I saw that Jonny’s server was back up, how do I join it?

DLU is a project started a long time ago, with the same goal as LUNI. They are closed-source, but we know that they are far more advanced than LUNI (enemies, NPC’s,etc.). To join Jonny’s server, click the link in the Public Servers bar and create an account. You will find instructions in his forums.

@Becool The main reason our team keeps DLU under wraps is for a number of reasons, especially deadlines. We’d rather have a functional game that takes 5 years to get working again rather than a junky game put together quickly that barely works in 2 years because of deadlines. But rest assured – there will be some release in the future. Can’t say when, but eventually there will be. Stick with us!

If you really think DLU is bad, check out Star Citizen. No deadlines, but it’s gonna be one of the coolest games when it’s finished! Take that as a model 🙂

@jon002 well said. Even though this might be self explanatory to some people. I think this is a better answer to people asking about DLU than «it’s in development «
