Sounds good, Jonny! Maybe you should include some common tools such as the patcher and translator into your client as well, so new users don’t have to change AUTHSERVERIP or LOCALE manually. I can host the client here, or on a torrent, or you can host it.
TimtechSuperadministradorWhen changing it manually, change
LOCALE=0:de_DE,
(German) toLOCALE=0:en_US
(US English). UK English isen_GB

TimtechSuperadministradorYou need GM/Admin status to spawn NPCs and objects. Most activity occurs at Nimbus Station (use
/tp 1200
to get there).TimtechSuperadministradorSorry I didn’t notice this post earlier. My Skype is TimTech Software but I rarely use it, so I’d recommend e-mailing me at timothy@timtechsoftware.com if you’d like to talk.
@kee225 I’ve added you to the list of people as a public server host. If you’d like to talk about the people page more, go ahead and e-mail me.TimtechSuperadministradorI assume you mean you’re trying to connect to the server from the client. It sounds like you are using a more recent version that requires you to register accounts into your local database (
register
from the server console, or you can use the official web interface) before you can connect.Great job so far, and I hope you will be able to get your server fully set up!
TimtechSuperadministradorYeah sorry, I noticed that and fixed it. Thanks @cookiemonst3r123
Also, @kee225, is the Pluto source available anywhere? That’s one of the public server requirements for security (also, thanks for using SSL with your site). It looks like you have a repository but I wasn’t able to find any source code.
TimtechSuperadministrador@creepyyodasoda I just added Project Pluto to the server monitor at the bottom of this page (and all pages on this site). It will let you know when the server as up. When servers are online, you can click on them to access their dedicated webpages.
Any full client, such as Nexus 2 or the BlastClient, should work. There is no functional difference, although Nexus 2 is larger because when it was first uploaded (a long time ago), we accidentally included some duplicate sound files that are unnecessary.
TimtechSuperadministradorThanks for the interest @gumety, but I have to close this topic for reasons that @kittyjumpyphone explained above. If you need any help connecting to Jonny’s server, you can start a new topic here or on his dedicated forums at http://lu.jonnyvps.de
TimtechSuperadministradorSorry, but this is the wrong place to ask. When you have a question that is specific to one server (Jonny’s server, in this case), you should ask on the forums that are dedicated to that server. Try logging in and posting at http://lu.jonnyvps.de/?page=forums
TimtechSuperadministradorTo add onto what @mater06 mentioned about the clients, Nexus 2 and the BlastClient are both full clients, but Nexus 2 actually contains a bunch of duplicate audio files that make the client much larger than it should be. Nexus 2 is 5.3 GB compressed, while BlastClient is only 4 GB compressed. Perhaps I will fix this and make a new client to put on the downloads page, since BlasterBuilder doesn’t want us to host the BlastClient. If I do, I’ll probably add the patcher and some stuff like the LU Translator to make getting started easier.
TimtechSuperadministrador@coolgametube Stolen? Check out this post – https://luniserver.com/topic/my-source-code-is-now-public/
TimtechSuperadministradorLUR is either private or gone. By the way, 0.8 is not very specific and Jonny’s code is a good example of what we would consider 0.8.
TimtechSuperadministradorThe most up-to-date code available is probably Jonny’s final release. You can find it at https://github.com/Timtech/UniverseServer
As for public servers, only one is up right now (Jonny’s server, http://lu.jonnyvps.de/) and it’s probably the best that there’s ever been as far as public servers go. You should be able to connect pretty easily after you register on the site and read the instructions in his forum.
I don’t recommend you host the server locally, unless you want to test 0.5.1 or you know enough to use the code I linked above.
TimtechSuperadministradorIt was basically a combination of me wanting to give time to this specific poll as well as not having a better one to replace it with. Still, it’s been up for more than a month now, and I’ll replace it. Thanks for the reminder!
As for «releasing the update» – 0.8 framework/code has been on GitHub for a while already. «Releasing» it basically means that we will begin to offer support for it on the forums, as well as add it to the downloads page.
