These days, people have been asking more questions on the game than many other times. That is a real issue. I have an idea to fix this problem: that if we have a How to Play bar at the top of the screen, next to Home, less people will ask these questions.
First off, everyone wants to play the game. So anyone new to this site will immediately go to the How to Play menu item.
Secondly, most of these problems are very basic issues, such as “I can’t do anything but walk around!” or “How do I play this game?”, which has been answered hundreds of time. Because everyone will go to the “How To Play” item, that is where it would be the easiest to put a detailed tutorial on how to connect to the public servers, the progress of the game, and so on.
Correct me if I am wrong, but HappyAngryCatfish got burnt out by these questions, as well as some other moderators. I would hate that to happen to anyone else, but right now, I feel like the influx of new people are coming straight to the forums and choking them with these questions.
Many people tell the newcomers to “search before you ask questions”, because they are tired of answering the same question. How will any new people know what to do? Giving them this answer only drives more people away. There is really no other solution except answering the questions again and again.
Maybe this won’t work. Maybe it will. It’s only a few hours of work, but it saves everyone a lot of time and passion. So, if you can do it, do it.
