Hello! I’m new here, I was reminiscing on the good ol’ days of LEGO Universe and I found your website, I am still confused as to how all this works, but it seems like even now 4 years later, you all are still trying to somehow bring the game back. I would love to help but I also have some questions. 1) Does it work/is it starting to? 2) Is this still an ongoing thing or did I find another sad dormant site? (No offense intended(I’ve found a few in the past))
Read through this and some of the other stuff he’s posted, explains it fairly well. If you have any more questions after reading it feel free to ask.
@Wincent Ion Universe isn’t a separate server software. It’s still based off LUNI (They are using Jonny’s modified version) thy are basically just hosting a server to entertain the community while they wait for something more substantial. I’m sure they hope to do more than that but that just isn’t going to happen, they just haven’t shown a sign of adding one new feature or anything of the sort. I don’t mean to ‘slam’ Ion Universe I am just pointing out what is known.
Soooo, is there much of a chance it’s ever going to be brought back? Also, would there be anyway I could help try to bring it back?

It does work, it’s quite far from done, but further along than starting.
2) Is this still an ongoing thing or did I find another sad dormant site?
“this” as in creating a LU Server emulator in C++ using RakNet 3.25 is definately still going on
“this” as the ‘LUNIServer’ branded project has kind of dissolved

Im in the same boat as you! I found this site, and the project seems to good to be true! I played LU back when it was in Alpha, and it has always had a special place in my heart, and even got to visit the LU Studio. I have resources to contribute to help restore the game to its former glory, but I would like a more concrete reassurance this is an active, genuine project.

I THINK (don’t know) Johnny is developing from the latest version here. DLU is a project that did not come from here but is closed source. The ion universe is new from LUNI and the server is currently down. Lego universe reborn is from here and will be back up soon.

It’s down like 90% of the time, and they’ve done nothing, it’s just a copy/paste of Jonny’s old server…

LUR has done pretty much nothing.Right now really the best thing to do is just wait for DLU. There is really nothing you can do right now.
@WickedGC when is that most likely to be coming out?
