Thanks for asking, Jonny.
I started translating to Spanish by hand, but ended up figuring out how to use the Google Translate API to translate the rest of it. Then, I figured I might as well try to add some other languages. The only problem is, LU seems to have a different font file for each language (English, German, and Russian, although Russian translations were never added). So, except for Russian, I set the rest of the languages to the English font file, which seemed to cause some problems with the box/missing/error characters you’re seeing on the screen.
If you open client\locale\locale.xml manually, like with Notepad++, you will see that all the characters are displaying correctly there. At the bottom of the file is all of the interesting stuff that I think would be the only way to mess with the fonts and stuff. My locale.xml has it looking something like this:
<fonts count="7"> <phrase id="FONTMAP_BOLD_NAME"> <translation locale="en_US">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="pl_US">Times New Roman</translation> <translation locale="de_DE">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="es_ES">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="pt_PT">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="fr_FR">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="it_IT">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="ru_RU">Times New Roman</translation> <translation locale="nl_NL">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="ms_MY">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="tl_PH">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> </phrase> <phrase id="FONTMAP_BOLD_STYLE"> <translation locale="en_US">Normal</translation> <translation locale="pl_US">Bold</translation> <translation locale="de_DE">Bold</translation> <translation locale="es_ES">Bold</translation> <translation locale="pt_PT">Bold</translation> <translation locale="fr_FR">Bold</translation> <translation locale="it_IT">Bold</translation> <translation locale="ru_RU">Bold</translation> <translation locale="nl_NL">Bold</translation> <translation locale="ms_MY">Bold</translation> <translation locale="tl_PH">Bold</translation> </phrase> <phrase id="FONTMAP_FONTLIB"> <translation locale="en_US">fonts_en.swf</translation> <translation locale="pl_US">fonts_pl.swf</translation> <translation locale="de_DE">fonts_de.swf</translation> <translation locale="es_ES">fonts_en.swf</translation> <translation locale="pt_PT">fonts_en.swf</translation> <translation locale="fr_FR">fonts_en.swf</translation> <translation locale="it_IT">fonts_en.swf</translation> <translation locale="ru_RU">fonts_ru.swf</translation> <translation locale="nl_NL">fonts_en.swf</translation> <translation locale="ms_MY">fonts_en.swf</translation> <translation locale="tl_PH">fonts_en.swf</translation> </phrase> <phrase id="FONTMAP_ITALIC_NAME"> <translation locale="en_US">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="pl_US">Times New Roman</translation> <translation locale="de_DE">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="es_ES">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="pt_PT">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="fr_FR">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="it_IT">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="ru_RU">Times New Roman</translation> <translation locale="nl_NL">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="ms_MY">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="tl_PH">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> </phrase> <phrase id="FONTMAP_ITALIC_STYLE"> <translation locale="en_US">Normal</translation> <translation locale="pl_US">Italic</translation> <translation locale="de_DE">Italic</translation> <translation locale="es_ES">Italic</translation> <translation locale="pt_PT">Italic</translation> <translation locale="fr_FR">Italic</translation> <translation locale="it_IT">Italic</translation> <translation locale="ru_RU">Italic</translation> <translation locale="nl_NL">Italic</translation> <translation locale="ms_MY">Italic</translation> <translation locale="tl_PH">Italic</translation> </phrase> <phrase id="FONTMAP_NORMAL_NAME"> <translation locale="en_US">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="pl_US">Times New Roman</translation> <translation locale="de_DE">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="es_ES">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="pt_PT">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="fr_FR">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="it_IT">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="ru_RU">Times New Roman</translation> <translation locale="nl_NL">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="ms_MY">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> <translation locale="tl_PH">Arial Rounded MT Bold</translation> </phrase> <phrase id="FONTMAP_NORMAL_STYLE"> <translation locale="en_US">Normal</translation> <translation locale="pl_US">Normal</translation> <translation locale="de_DE">Normal</translation> <translation locale="es_ES">Normal</translation> <translation locale="pt_PT">Normal</translation> <translation locale="fr_FR">Normal</translation> <translation locale="it_IT">Normal</translation> <translation locale="ru_RU">Normal</translation> <translation locale="nl_NL">Normal</translation> <translation locale="ms_MY">Normal</translation> <translation locale="tl_PH">Normal</translation> </phrase> </fonts>
Perhaps we could figure out if these are really the optimal settings for each language. I only had limited knowledge of what I was doing. Also, I don’t have access to the GTranslate API anymore but I don’t think we would need it to fix this, if it can be fixed. Maybe try switching the font to Times New Roman to see if anything changes?

TimtechKeymasterOkay, fixed that, sorry for the confusion.
TimtechKeymasterIt’s my guess that they have not implemented missions yet. Next time, try asking LUReborn-specific questions at http://lu.lureborn.com/forum/
Closing this topic, but feel free to ask it again at the link I posted above.
TimtechKeymasterYeah, LU Reborn is still being configured/developed so I would recommend Jonny’s server for the time being. Still, I’m glad I was able to help you with my tutorial. Have fun!
TimtechKeymasterIt’s true that LUNI is still lacking content, but if you think 0.5.1 is all there is, you are mistaken. For the best experience, just edit your client’s boot.cfg and change the AUTHSERVERIP to one of the public servers (after you register with them). They have multiplayer, mail, travel, commands, etc. (Check the bottom of page for the server status widget).

TimtechKeymasterUse lu.lureborn.com for the IP in this tutorial.

TimtechKeymasterYou can find Public Servers at the bottom of any page on this site, where it says “Public Servers”.
TimtechKeymaster@palace_eu Use the /tp command to go to another world. For example,
/tp 1200
brings you to Nimbus Station.A full list of world IDs can be found here.
TimtechKeymasterHere is the machine code as well, just in case (8,872,647-byte .7z archive containing a 159,745,592-byte .asm file): http://timtechsoftware.com/uploads/legouniverse.asm-analyzed.7z
TimtechKeymasterOkay, the auto-analysis didn’t really seem to change anything with those _UNKNOWN types, but there is a slight file size difference (the new file is 102,075,262 bytes). Check out http://timtechsoftware.com/uploads/legouniverse.c-analyzed.7z for the new file.
P.S. Moved this topic to Tinkerer’s Corner.
TimtechKeymasterAlright, I will see about trying to get the auto-analysis to work and then exporting again to see if that changes things. Either way, I’ll add the final .c file to the Downloads page as you suggested.
TimtechKeymasterScrap that, I ran into some problems with exporting the machine code. Oh well, the Hex-Rays was the important thing, right? I was able to decompile legouniverse.exe to a C-like pseudocode (I had to override some type of autoanalysis, so I’m not exactly sure if it completed all the way). If it looks like something is missing I can try again tomorrow.
Anyways, here it is:
http://timtechsoftware.com/uploads/legouniverse.c.7z
The full legouniverse.c is 102,267,075 bytes, but with PPMD:o32 it compressed to 7,714,529 bytes.
TimtechKeymasterAlright @anonymous, good news. After some searching I found a seat for the Hex-Rays decompiler as well. I haven’t used IDA at all in at least a year, but now I’m starting to remember how to do some stuff. At any rate, the C pseudocode as well as hopefully some machine code will be posted soon in Tinkerer’s Corner in a new thread.
TimtechKeymasterYou need to use the exact username and password from when you registered. Only server versions 0.5.1 and below allow you to put any username and password.
