Hey all,
First let me introduce myself, I am a English Teenager who holds LEGO deeply to my heart, and was very sad to see LEGO Universe go. A few years after it shutdown, I took it into my own hands to find a replacement for the legendary game. As many people have said, games like LEGO Minifigures online can’t replace the phenomenon that LEGO Universe was.
Recently, I sent an email which I think seemed to be persuasive, and after reading it, it seems we need to get up and support what I will talk about in a second. My name has been taken out for privacy reasons. Thanks for getting in touch with us.
I am so sorry that we don’t offer LEGO® Universe currently. I definitely see that there are a wide range of fans who still wish that it would come back. So, what I have done is sent this information to our design teams. This is the team that would be responsible for any revival. If enough people send us these types of emails, it could make a big difference. Thank you for writing it, and thank you for solidifying the need for this service, it will go a long way.
First, I would like to thank the person who handled my email, he too will remain anonymous but he knows who he is. Now into the nice stuff,
In this case, an idea has been put forward about rebooting the Legend of the Universe. In my first email, I stated how there are people working hard on continuing the game (LUNiSERVER), and that they too, should help with the needs of this possible new game
In a nutshell, if we get more people to send emails to customer support about reviving LEGO Universe, we could possibly, in the foreseeable future, see a Revive of LEGO Universe.
But of course, we can’t do this alone. There are only ever so much people who knew about the game, after all, it did have a short but glorious reign. So I am not only asking the veterans of this noble game to help me support this movement, but I am also asking you all to spread it. Tell everyone who might be interested about this game that if you support us, we get this game back.
If you had family, who love playing with LEGOs in their room, tell them about this game, share it on Facebook, share it on Twitter, it’s up to you. But now I recite this quote.
“To help yourself, you must be yourself. Be the best you can be. When you make a mistake, learn from it. Pick up from it and win” – Dave palzer
For all those people who want LEGO universe back, better start typing those emails.
And I don’t want everyone to stop work
Thanks, I will update soon.
Mariofly5 or Mario on Jonnys server
P.S – I am not trying to put any ones work into a standstill, which is why I mentioned how you are all working hard and should get some help with the project. Personally, I love this project, and I think it should continue.
P.P.S – I like how the customer service emailer called LEGO universe a service, and He is very right about that.
November 30, 2015 at 7:49 pm #2407XiphoseerModeratorHello @mariofly5,
welcome in the world of LU development. Be informed beforehand, that I am the developer who took LUNI a step further this last summer, but that I have recently joined another project called DLU, which is far more likely to move ahead in the future. This does not mean that the LUNIServer community will disappear, it will likely stay a place where people can try out existing software until some group releases a server that’s ready for the public.
I have read your post, and am genuinely interested in what significance it has. The LU community has at multiple occasions sent requests to Lego about the possibility of reviving the game. These discussions have led to the clear situation, that Lego will NOT revive Lego Universe, but that projects to revive it are allowed as long as there is no commercial gain through LEGO’s intellectual property.
In addition to these mails, there have been multiple attempts by some people to pretend Lego would act in favor of reviving LU, or taking certain actions like forcing a group to make their work public and available for everyone. As far as I know, none of these attemps have had any real significance and the people presenting them were not able to prove their claims by any means.
This means, that I am quite sceptical whether your email conversation is real or not. To be more precise, the statement “If enough people send us these types of emails, it could make a big difference.” is VERY unlikely to come from a real customer support, because that would mean much more work for them.
So if you want other people to trust your claims, you would need to prove the validity of your claim, by e.g. posting a high resolution screenshot of that e-mail in your inbox (you may blank out your name in that image), or uploading the *.eml file you get when saving the E-Mail (again with your name blanked out). These can be faked, so you’ll still need to convince us that you tell the truth. Furthermore, any attempt to say you can’t prove it (deleted the e-mail, server error, …) will make other people think, your claim, this e-mail is real, is untrue.
I hope you understand my doubts, still, it would be great if it was real.

November 30, 2015 at 8:00 pm #2409TimtechKeymasterIf you need upload access for the high-res picture / .eml I can give you HTTP or FTP upload permissions based on file size.
P.S. Xiphoseer, why did you join DLU? It is a closed source project, isn’t it?
November 30, 2015 at 8:53 pm #2410XiphoseerModeratorI joined, because DLU has
– more experienced programmers
– more knowledge about the server
– is ahead of the LUNI source
– is closed away from noobs
– has a clear policy on when to give out stuff (never)December 1, 2015 at 2:57 am #2412mariofly5ParticipantThank you for reading. I will get the high resolution picture up soon.
December 1, 2015 at 8:05 am #2414mariofly5ParticipantI’ve also just found out, that I am not the only person who got an email back like this. (community.lego.com)
December 1, 2015 at 8:13 am #2415mariofly5Participant@Xipho also, I am interested in DLU. I know it’s closed but how do I get involved?
December 1, 2015 at 10:05 am #2416XiphoseerModeratorOk, my first reaction was, that this seems plausible. However, there are some details, that make that decision not quite clear. Firstly, the LEGO logo in your image is blurred in the to left corner, but perfectly aligned to the pixels on the bottom and right side. The beginning of ‘To:’ is blurred in a similar way along with the line at the top of the e-mail. Blurring should not happen with a screenshot. The main paragraph containing your claimed answer has a lightly bigger font-size than the rest of the e-mail. Also, your image only contains the mail itself, without the sending address or any information on the e-mail client around it. This means, you could technically have copied a real e-mail from customer support and adjusted the height of the content block to fit any text into there. Finally, the way you blank out names and addresses is not ideal, because it retains shadows around where the text has been and normally you blank out text with black bars and not trying to hide that anything has been there.
You text does not contain any information on the customer service employee responsable for sending that e-mail, nor does it contain any kind of footer about LEGO (e.g. a privacy disclaimer). In addition to that, a person very experienced with the english language agreed with me that this style of writing is similar to a chain letter.
If you say, you were not the only person getting this kind of e-mail, why don’t you provide a direct link to the topic on the LEGO message boards, so we can easily verify if people have indeed recieved these e-mails.
I’m sorry to say that, but until you can provide a detailed explanation to why these details are off, I can’t fully believe you. Plus, it is unlikely that posting the exact same image with just these errors corrected will convince people, you will need to post an image even more truthful to make us believe you.
To help you get a truely convincing image, look at the following example:
http://imgur.com/BlTjaIBConcerning DLU, it being closed means there is no way for people to get involved. It does neither have a website nor does it have a public repo, so the only thing you can do is to wait.

December 1, 2015 at 11:22 am #2420mariofly5Participant1. Sorry about the blur thing. I used photoshop CS6 to blur out my profile picture, but I was unhappy with that so I just painted over it with a brush.
2. The screenshot taken was taken in snipping tool. Unlike the other email, this was taken straight from Mozilla Thunderbird. The other was taken from outlook.
And if thats not enough proof, here is another image of the date and time, along with the title of the email and the sender.

December 1, 2015 at 12:22 pm #2422XiphoseerModeratorOk, i’m fairly certain, that this proves that you have recieved a Message from LEGO Customer Service on 30/11/2015 20:13. What i’m not certain about is the content. I feels a little silly, depending on if this proves real or not, but let me explain:
You didn’t follow all of the rules described in my imgur post. You didn’t include a noisy backround and didn’t use windowed mode. You also did not use black squares to blank out sensible information. It’s not full resolution and your image also has a blank padding of 25px on the left of your image, which means that it has been manipulated more than just blanking out names and adresses.
The relevant text has again a different size than the original, but this might fit, if on of them has no size specified and the rest has, and then differ depending on the client you use. However the selection of text to have in a different size is weird, because the “Kind regards” is not included.
Also, your scrollbar is only a third of the possible length, meaning the e-mail continues for twice as long. What does the mail contain down there? In such cases, you’re supposed to scroll down an present multiple screenshots with their contents overlapping.
Finally i’d like to know why you blank out the name and e-mail of the LEGO Service account. I kind of counted on the fact that I would be able to see the e-mail address. If you want to show that, click on the start and hit ‘Delete’. You can add the contact back after taking the image.
I don’t see why you would need to post the header as another image, since it’s exactly the same as in the full image.
I’m sorry, but i’m very picky with such details!
PS: I think the person that answered you is called “Jonathan”

December 1, 2015 at 4:13 pm #2426KnightoffaithModerator@Xiphoseer, I believe the differing text size is normal from CS responses I’ve gotten (they’re response is different from the default ‘letterhead’). The padding is due to the snipping tool, it automatically adds padding, and it’s kept because he colored out into it.
I can indeed verify having heard similar things to these about “if we get many emails such as this”. I’d bet it depends on how well trained the rep is (ie, if they’d dealt with LU at the time of its closure, they would have that boilerplate down pat), and also how thought out the email is (ie, just a simply “you need to bring it back!” will not garner the attention that a thorough analysis of why and how it would be possible/sensible would).
Can’t say that it’s likely that a return would be likely, but I am hoping that LEGO will finally decide to implement a “service” game again. MLN and LU are both defunct, with nothing to replace either style. LEGO, in my mind, is really missing something with true collaboration & community, imagination, expansive role-playing and environments/exploration, economy, etc. It fits so well, but it doesn’t exist (and, you know, the teen community is left pretty well out to dry, without really trying to bring in the content that would appeal to us, ie more serious, more than giant expensive things, and keep the adventure).
December 1, 2015 at 4:26 pm #2427mariofly5ParticipantI will reupload the image but trying to get a higher res may be hard.
response to PS – possibly that’s his name, but I would like to respect my and his privacy
December 1, 2015 at 10:51 pm #2453fbis99ParticipantIf this Customer Service Rep. is real, then privacy for him is not neccessary. (At least i don’t think) Because if he is a legit rep., then he communicates to lots of people, thus making privacy immposible anyway. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
December 1, 2015 at 10:58 pm #2454KnightoffaithModerator@fbis99 I actually would’ve done the same thing myself. The difference here is that it’s a person being directly associated with saying something in particular, being “published”. It’s kinda hard to explain.
December 1, 2015 at 11:05 pm #2455WheresMyMailboxParticipantI am having a hard time believing this due to all the factors that could possibly make this fake (not saying it is or anything). I really would like to see the full page and the name of the representative that sent the email. Then my hopes may go right up.
