I don’t think the launcher needs much improvement, it looks quite nice and has everything needed.
If you want to learn C++, go ahead. You need to consider that this is a really big and complex language. As well, in the newer server versions, MySQL is used, so basic understanding of that is good. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
