LEGO Universe forum category

Hello!

I recently posted in the welcome thread on the forums here, saying that I would like to help in the simple way of just actively posting and participating. However, I think it will be difficult to maintain good topics on a active basis as time progresses, especially when development is slow and there is not much to talk about relating to the project itself.

Though I imagine, since you haven’t done so already, that you don’t want „Off Topic“ and related categories. I can understand why too. Hence why I think a LEGO Universe category would be a fitting addition, as suggested in the title. This would still retain to the LUNI project’s goal, and would give a place for more casual conversation about LEGO Universe that doesn’t have to necessarily talk about the project itself to be on topic. Ranging from favorite faction kit, least favorite Maelstrom to fight, so forth. I imagine this would dull down too in the number of active topics to talk about, but still, a good way for the community to familiarize with one another and maintain activity.

I am sure it was probably spoken of before in some shape or form, but hopefully throwing in my thoughts about it helps!

I don’t think I ever got too much feedback about the forum structure. Having an off-topic for LU or for LEGO/computer-related stuff seems like a good idea. If we were to add this, I think it would go best as a subforum under the „General Discussion“ forum. What do you think?

Sorry it took so long to reply, I have been been meaning to reply weeks ago, but, well, account issues and my personal life came up.

I originally thought a separate category would make more sense, since General Discussion is for LUNI discussion, not technically LU itself, from what I understand. But separating them would make both sections split, of course, and with the size of the community, we probably wouldn’t generate too much chatter to make separating them worthwhile. With that in mind, I think just changing the description („Discuss the LEGO Universe Newly Imagined project.“) of the category to be more broad would do perfectly fine.

As for a computer related discussion category, I know you probably don’t want to make things get too off topic in these forums, but increasing the variety will probably be important to keep the community going, something to look forward to when coming back to this website, despite even if development is slow.

Good idea, Frosty. I changed the General Discussion description to „Discuss LEGO Universe.“ to broaden possible topics. I am also open to adding different forums to the structure, so let me know of any more ideas 🙂
