Am looking for the most up to date server or whatever possible. I know there’s DLU(?), Jonny’s Server and Reborn but only one of them seems to be public and up and it isn’t really playable from what I’ve seen.

Should I host it locally (and where is there a good server software) or is there something I’m not aware of?

The most up-to-date code available is probably Jonny’s final release. You can find it at https://github.com/Timtech/UniverseServer

As for public servers, only one is up right now (Jonny’s server, http://lu.jonnyvps.de/) and it’s probably the best that there’s ever been as far as public servers go. You should be able to connect pretty easily after you register on the site and read the instructions in his forum.

I don’t recommend you host the server locally, unless you want to test 0.5.1 or you know enough to use the code I linked above.

Thanks, I saw this topic: https://luniserver.com/topic/read-here-important-news/ however the server seems to have gone private. Is there any other software that has missions implemented? Also, Is 0.8 on a GH repository anywhere? I do know how to code (though not C++) so I’m confident I can compile it and at least test it.

LUR is either private or gone. By the way, 0.8 is not very specific and Jonny’s code is a good example of what we would consider 0.8.

Thanks, I’ll probably wait for LUR’s release as they seem to have a good amount of posts recently.
