Since the old patcher (LEGOUniverseLauncher.exe) can no longer be used because the official LEGO Universe servers have been shut down, we all had to edit the boot.cfg file of our clients to run the game. To resolve this situation, I have started the development of a replacement to this patcher with the project name “UniversePatcher”. It edits your boot.cfg for you, and offers you to choose a server form a list on luniserver.com. The list includes localhost, so you can connect to servers on your local machine too.
To use UniversePatcher, download any full LEGO Universe Client (BlastClient, Nexus2, PacMania67’s, …) and follow the Instructions on the UniversePatcher Releases page linked below.

This Patcher is made to be independant of the client you are using and the server software you want to connect to. The patcher only uses the original UniverseConfig.svc syntax and the original boot.cfg syntax. This makes it usable for basically any LU setup/software you may have.
Additionally, we provide any software you may need to set up a dynamic environment for yourself, and a default environment, so that you can use the patcher without any setup too.
Technical Details:
It has been possible before to trick the old patcher to work by using the hosts file to redirect services.lego.com, but that can not be a recommended solution, because editing the hosts file is extremely dangerous for unexerienced users. Additionally, the original patcher required patcher files to be accessible on a server, which is not the case here since we start an already existing client.
I followed all the instructions and this happened.

I have uploaded an updated .zip file to github (Releases – LUNIServer/UniversePatcher)
when i launched the patcher, everything went fine and the launcher opened. but when i tried to click the “play” button, it did nothing. i don’t know if this is my fualt or the program’s, but one thing that would help immensley would be a step-by-step to-do list on how to use lunipatcher so it works correctly.
@scyrus42, please do spam new threads if you just have a question about something where a topic already exists. It’s possible, that you extracted the patcher in the wrong place. And a step by step tutorial is NOT USEFUL, because if we explain everything to you again, you will get used to not reading the tutorials we provide, and we won’t think for you.
Sorry, if I sound annoyed, I just am annoyed. But you are by far not the only person, just the first thread I reply to today.
Would it be fine if I made a video tutorial on this for my channel or do I have to follow instructions and upload it a certain way?

Of course you can upload a video, just link to the releases page https://github.com/LUNIServer/UniversePatcher/releases/. And if something doesn’t work, tell it here first before uploading the video, I wouldn’t like to see a workaround. And post the link here.
